Privacy Policy

1. Who is responsible

HelpCenter Solutions Ltd., a company registered in Bulgaria and the maker of HelpCenter.io, operates faqs.me and is responsible for the personal data described here. This policy covers the free faqs.me website, editor, and optional AI features. For privacy questions or requests, email hello@helpcenter.io.

2. Projects, exports, and share links

• Editing and imports. FAQ text, design settings, imported project files, and saved projects are processed in your browser and stored using local storage. Ordinary editing and exporting do not upload your project to our servers. Clearing faqs.me site data in your browser removes these local copies and saved AI session details. Browser storage is not a backup.
• Share links. A share link includes a compressed copy of your project in the URL fragment (the part after #). This fragment is not sent in the browser’s HTTP request to our server. Anyone with the full link can read and copy its contents; it is not encrypted or access-controlled. Copies already shared cannot be revoked through faqs.me.
• Exported FAQs. The generated FAQ code does not include faqs.me tracking or require a connection to our servers. Content and links you add, and the website where you publish it, are under your control.

3. Optional AI generation and brand colors

When you request AI generation, we receive the website URL you submit, fetch publicly accessible pages from that website, and send relevant page content to our AI provider, Anthropic, to draft questions and answers. A brand-color request also sends the URL to our servers and fetches website content to identify colors.

AI results, including generated content and associated source and usage information, are cached on our servers for up to 24 hours so the app can retrieve them. Your browser may keep a copy for longer as part of your project or AI session. Do not submit confidential data, sensitive personal information, credentials, or private URLs. Processing by the AI provider is also subject to its applicable retention and security practices.

4. Operational information and analytics

We and our hosting providers process technical request information, such as IP addresses, request times, URLs, and browser information, to deliver the site, diagnose errors, and prevent abuse. API usage limits use your IP address and request counts, with windows of one minute or one day depending on the feature.

We record AI generation counts, the domains submitted for generation, token usage, and generation costs. Daily usage and cost counters expire after 400 days. All-time totals and per-domain generation counts currently have no automatic expiry. These counters do not contain the crawled page text or generated answers.

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand site traffic. It records page views and information such as page URLs, referrers, approximate location, and browser and device type. It does not use third-party cookies to identify visitors; its request-derived visitor identifier lasts up to 24 hours. See Vercel’s analytics privacy documentation for details. Analytics on this website are separate from the FAQ code you export.

5. Why we process information

Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we process information needed to deliver features you request to perform our agreement with you. We rely on our legitimate interests to keep the free tool secure, prevent abuse, understand usage, manage costs, and respond to support requests. We may also process information to meet legal obligations. Where consent is required, we will ask for it, and you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing.

If you contact us, we receive the contact details and message you provide and use them to respond. We do not sell personal data or use it for cross-site advertising. AI drafts are content suggestions; we do not use them to make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects.

6. Providers and international processing

Our service providers include Vercel for hosting and web analytics, Amazon Web Services for the website-processing agent, Upstash for temporary AI results, rate limits, and usage counters, and Anthropic for AI generation. Live template previews also load fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address and browser request information when those fonts are requested. Exported FAQ code does not load these fonts. Providers receive the information needed for their respective functions. We may also disclose information when legally required or necessary to protect the Service and people from abuse.

Providers may process information outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area. Where required by law, international transfers must be covered by an adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards, such as standard contractual clauses. Contact us for information about the safeguards applicable to your data.

7. Retention, security, and your choices

The specific retention periods for cached AI results and usage counters are described above. Browser data remains until removed or replaced. Other operational records and support messages are kept as needed to provide support, investigate abuse, and meet legal obligations; provider logs and analytics follow their applicable retention settings. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.

You can use the editor without AI, clear local site data, and choose what to export or share. Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of personal data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact hello@helpcenter.io to exercise these rights. We may need information to verify a request and locate relevant records; we cannot retrieve projects held only in your browser.

You may complain to your local data protection authority, including Bulgaria’s Commission for Personal Data Protection. These rights are subject to the conditions and exceptions in applicable law.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the tool changes and will update the date above. We will provide additional notice of material changes where required. See also our Terms of Service.
